Overall my experience at UGA was very positive. I first attended the University of Florida for a year and was very disappointed by both the social life and the academic quality (that I was led to believe was superior.) I am very happy with the fact that I transferred. The campus is not only very beautiful in every season, but the city of Athens is extremely cultural and vibrant with a small-town feel. Also, if you like music, the scene there is unrivaled…and Atlanta is only an hour away.If you like sports, this is the place to be. Most label it a football school…(and it is, very rabidly…) but the other sports do very well and have great attendance. Gymnastics, Swimming and Tennis are all top-notch and win national championships regularly.UGA's academic quality is very challenging but the faculty seems very anxious to become very involved. And they got me very excited about the material. I felt like I was a part of something very special. There's no reason why UGA shouldn't be at the top of your list.
