FIU is probably the fastest growing university in the country. It is one of only 78 universities in the US with both the Carnegie's highest classification for a research university and a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa (only given to the best universities). The comment about being a "commuter school" is not entirely correct. There are currently about 2,000 beds and the number is increasing fast.
