Emerson College - Another Gilded Empire

I’m probably about to tell you everything you do not want to hear, but it’s all true and can save you years of your life:

Tuition is $20,000+ per year. An extremely small number of students actually pay any of that. Not because Emerson has excellent financial aid - Emerson awards little if any financial aid each year. The far majority of students at Emerson come from wealthy families that pay around $100,000 to send their precious wanton children to Emerson College for four years. Those highly self-examined little kids (not) enter as cigarette smoking hip wannabe artsy and exit as chain smoking hip wannabe artsy, but I assure you, nothing else changes. The professors are well trained to smile, and do so, but are soon discovered as disgruntled like the students. They are all so underpaid that they smoke as well, to ease the pain. A well know statistic is that 75%++ of the Emerson College population smokes. Emerson is simply just another business where it’s all about the money, not education - and certainly not talent.

Emerson College is another gilded American empire with successful ad campaigns to build image (among many in Boston.) Please don’t be fooled by it, I wish you luck looking elsewhere.
