Major: Undecided (This Major's Salary over time)
I am a freshman and one of about 80 students in the newly formed honors program. I also have a 4.0 GPA. And yet I am actively trying to transfer out of this school.

I will admit that RIT has a good academic program. If you go here you will likely be challenged and when you graduate you will probably get a very good job. This college also has an excellent co-op program to help you on your way and decide if your major/job is right for you (at least from what I've heard from other students). The staff here are good and easily approachable, at least all the professors I've had so far.

However, after academics there is little else to help this college (as I'm sure you're tired of reading by now). The social life is terrible and this is compounded by the new administration's attitude toward draining the life out of the students. Social life and school pride has really gone down in the past few years (again referring to the people who graduated a few years ago). The only motivation I have is to go to class, get good grades, and wait for the quarter to end. Male:Female ratio is abysmal as well. So is the weather and the dreaded "quarter mile walk" to classes. You really will dread your choice if you decide to come here.

This school has excellent academics but there should be more to college than just class. I hope you will follow my advice, choose a more well-rounded college, and stay away from RIT.
