Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
The easy availability of top-notch research and access to some of the most brilliant people in the world make the few drawbacks at MIT well worth it. The downside is that teaching at the graduate level does suffer because faculty are too engaged in research. Regardless, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
