I am in English Ed. and it is harder and harder to become a teacher nowadays. The English Dept. has a high criteria to abide by; however, I believe EIU is a good teaching college. The surrounding city of Charleston has limited things to do at night, unless you are 21. The Greek life is big down here and sometimes annoying. Parking is a huge issue here. Get involved early w/ intramural sports/ex. curr. etc. the earlier the better…it's easy to make friends that way. Campus is mid-size and is not too big or not too small. We have one of the safest campuses in the nation. Our Rec. Center is huggggeeee and lots of fun.
