Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
I've only been in my program for one semester, but on the whole, I've been satisfied so far with UVa's Curry School of Education. I've also attended graduate school in education at another large and well-regarded state university, so I have a basis for comparison. I think the courses in my program at UVa are a little less structured, in that the instructors don't necessarily address everything in lectures that you will need to know on exams, but they do guide you toward learning on your own, usually through external reading or library research, or through working on projects with fellow students. You must be capable of self-direction or you will find this lack of structure frustrating. Still, I'll be proud to complete my Ph.D. here and feel that it will benefit me in my career.
