Major: Sociology (This Major's Salary over time)
Messiah College has been the perfect place for me to realize my own potential and gain confidence in my gifts and abilities. While 'the Bubble' can get overwhelming sometimes (meriting a weekend trip to Philly), the rural location fosters greater on-campus community . . . and almost everyone is pretty focused on their work. We all complain about how much homework we have, NOT our hangovers. Intelligent discussion abounds, but sometimes theological debates get old. However, it's easy to find students with similar theological backgrounds - spiritual growth is high. Professors are highly accessible and willing to invest in their students. I personally have three mentors/advisers who I meet with bi-weekly. Co-curricular activities only strengthen the educational experience. Study abroad programs are strong, and everyone (with the exception of nursing majors) is encouraged to spend a semester elsewhere. Overall, I love Messiah College and will probably be one of those alums who pads the endowment.
