Major: History/Histories (art history/etc.) (This Major's Salary over time)
The GOOD: I have loved my time at tulane. The professors are helpful and approachable. Also, the student body is quite diverse due to the large number of Latin American students who come to study b/c tulane has one of the best latin american studies departments in the country. New Orleans is probably the only city in the nation where you can go to bars and have a normal adult social life at 18. New Orleans is probably the best reason to come to Tulane bc you will have a lot of fun!!!THE BAD: You will come to loathe the administration bc tulane administrations are considered about only one thing—getting students to go to tulane and the ranking in US News and World Report. They spend far more time and energy wooing you then they ever will once you decide to attend. Another frequent complaint is that while Tulane students are friendly and fun, they are truely apathetic. If you want to have discussions outside of class, join clubs(that do things other than drink), and protest things…Dont come here!! The Ugly: Tulane ranking in US News and Report is always hurt by the retention rate bc many students fail out of school their first or second semester. So do not underestimate the difficulty of your classes…go to class(occasionally) and do not spend all your time on bourbon street. Or you may be one of the people in the "honors" dorm with a .4 first semester.
