I attended several universities and I have a taste of both Michigan and Wayne State. I am not sure if I agree with your statement, "an 'A' at WSU looks better than a 'B' at Michigan". Although I personally don't think it's right, employers in many fields do look at which school you attended. |

Having attended a couple universities around the country, WSU provides the best "bang for your buck". I believe it is better to do well in your studies no matter what school you choose to attend. There are 1000's of universities. Employers will look at YOUR transcript and how well you performed more than the logo at the top of the transcript. I am now paying $240 / credit hour for graduate school. At U of Michigan the cost is approx. $700.00. I think people buy into name (consumerism) more than relying on their own accomplishments. Believe me; an "A" at WSU looks better than a "B" at Michigan. All else being equal, you may have a better opportunity if you went to Michigan. For most, however, just getting a degree and doing well is what employers want most. Universities are big business - remember that. They "sell you" on their name no different than Marlboro cigs are suppose to be better than generics. We have people in our company from schools all over the country. Who really can compare them all?Joe
