Millersville sits in a fairly small town. We have cows and Amish and other stuff like that. But there's plenty to do if you look for it. There's lots and LOTS of good restaurants within easy driving distance. Some decent shopping at Park City (and you can take the bus there for free).

Right now, the traffic is the most annoying thing that I've found. It's about 5 miles to the interstats, and when everyone leaves for break, or comes back, it can take over 30 min. to travel that 5 miles.

The buildings are all square with flat roofs. Some are quite ugly. Of course, I just visited friends at Grove City College this past weekend, and that campus (filled with "neo-Gothic" buildings) is simply gorgeous! So I'm partial to that right now. Millersville does have some really spelendid brick buildings, but they have a more "modern" style rather than the beautiful old-fashioned "neo-Gothic" stuff. Oh well.

I've got to say, the dorm rooms are excellent (okay, there are certain dorms that are really crummy; ignore that for now). Very comfortable and cozy. Most need a lot of decorating, but that's part of the fun.

And the nasty dorms are slowly being renovated. This campus has so many maintenance projects it's not even funny how long it takes new stuff to get done. Very little of it is necessary maintenance: everything's great now! But they are SOOOO good here about making everything better! They're always adding new flower beds, planted more trees. But it's a large campus, and it's really tough to do all the things they want to do. It often takes a while to get stuff done.

Parties! Of course it's a dry campus! But there are parties here every night! Some RA's will just look the other way and pretend they don't notice. Most of them are just like us anyway, and they want us to have a good time (and they don't want to look like the "bad guy"). The few rules we have here get stretched a lot.

No one is rude, but people could be a little friendlier.
