Hampton University

Basically, here's my take on HU. When I was a freshman, I had the same complaints as everyone else. The cafeteria food is atrocious, the school is too concerned with image, administration are unhelpful, and Hampton wants way too much money, but as I matured I realized that these things were secondary. Yes, the food is nasty, but when you're broke as hell it sure does help. Yes, the school is concerned with image but what university isn't? Would you rather go to one that doesn't care so much…like Morris Brown? As far as administration goes, they are basically the only component of Hampton that still frustrates me, but they keep me on my toes and I know that when I graduate I won't be unprepared for unnecessary bs that comes along with entering the work world because Hampton has already put me through four years of it. As far as social aspects, If you don't have friends you don't have fun..that's how it goes. There are the loners that sit around and get pissed because they don't have anything to do and they want to go home. Well, I got over that the third day of being at Hampton…Get over it..you're in a Commonwealth and VA is just a lame state. You are in school do your work, that is what you are here for. Yes, Hampton is boring…but I have close friends and we make the best of our enviornment. As a matter of fact, I have fun everyday and when I say fun…I mean it. Yes,I had curfew and all that ridiculousness my freshman year…but did I ever come in at curfew…no way. You have to know how to play the game…it's not that hard to get put on to the game… just be rebellious (but be smart) instead of complaining. Do you listen to your parents?, probably not which is why you came here from anoter state…and if you are already from here..you really shouldn't complain..because you already knew how it was going down. So while this review website says don't comment on others opinions..here's my opinion. Don't clown Hampton it has its faults…but from me going to other HBCU's to visit…i would pick Hampton above others…I mean would you rather go to Morris Brown?

PS…that dude with the laptop playing music from Kazaa is my cousin…stop hating because he makes bread, and I bet you went to that party he DJ'ed last weekend…because I was a freshman once…and I still went to the weak parties even though I was clowning while I was there…
