Brandeis was a fun place for me to be at for 4 years. I had no motivation to go to classes, though I did do all of my assigned work. Most of the time, I slept in and watched talk shows all day. It was great!!

After I graduated from Brandeis, I found a good paying job. The pay was above-average and I thought it would be great. It helped me pay off my student loans. Then I had an epiphany: OMG!! I went to college for four years just to become a secretary???

Anyways, for the past 2 years I've been working at that job, took a few continuing education classes to stay sane, took some fun classes to entertain myself, worked a second job, and volunteered. My motivation level is sooooooooo high right now. I decided to go back to school and really do something this time. I will attend classes, socialize, and really study (I never did this at Brandeis either).

What I'm trying to say is that once you know what you want to do and are determined to what it takes to get there, things will work out. I don't think an undergraduate degree prepares anyone for a "real world job," when most "real world" jobs require you to sit in front of a computer all day, answer phone calls, and be a secretary. You can do that straight out of high school if you wished.

I definitely think graduate school is a good idea if you really want to get a job that requires you to actually think and use your analytical skills!! Brandeis will help you get into a good graduate school. It has lots of academic, career, and graduate school resources. I'll be attending a graduate school in the fall. Email me if you have any questions. I'll be happy to answer them if I can. Take care.
