Major: Journalism (This Major's Salary over time)
As a senior majoring in journalism and minoring in political science, I've enjoyed my time here at Temple for the most part. The professors I've encountered in my major are very helpful, and the student body is friendly. Best of all, Temple's relatively inexpensive compared to most colleges, especially if you're an in-state student.

However, if you're looking for a party school, Temple is definitely not for you. The campus resembles a ghost town on most weekends, possibly because more than half of the school's students are commuters. And if you're looking for a school with a competitive football team, Temple is definitely not for you.

Temple's main campus is not exactly surrounded by the greatest of neighborhoods, but I haven't had any problems. The campus is well lit at night, and the school's police force is actually the third-largest in the state (behind the City of Philadelphia and the City of Pittsburgh).

Finally, if you plan on going to Temple and are lucky enough to get on-campus housing during your first year, don't count on having it in future years … student housing is determined through a lottery, and those who lose out either have to find a place off-campus to live or transfer to another school.
