Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm incredibly lucky, because the BSC English faculty has to be, hands down, the best faculty in the world. They made my college career wonderful and really helped me grow, both as an English major and as a person in general.Social life is MUCH too Greek-oriented, which really sucks. I lived off-campus my junior and senior years, and believe me, getting out of the "bubble" really helps. I don't understand why the surrounding city is marked a C+…I personally LOVE Birmingham and think it's great. And believe me, I've been to a lot of places. Birmingham has plenty of stuff to do, but without being too big of a city. Love the restaurants, clubs, etc. Now that I'm stuck in the hellhole that is Huntsville, I very much miss B'ham. All in all, a great school. As with any liberal arts college, you will find your pretentious, arrogant folk who think they already have a deep philosophical understanding of the world, and who have the uncanny ability to get teachers to worship at their shrine. You'd think professors would be smarter than that. Just laugh at them. Know that after college they will hit the brick wall that is the real world, and their airbags will not deploy. So yeah, I'd recommend BSC. I had a chance to go to pretty much any college I wanted, and I chose it, and I don't regret it. I made some wonderful friends, learned a lot of stuff, had some unforgettable experiences, and matured as a person. Who could ask for more?
