The social life on campus is horrible, you must go to San Diego State university, Mexico, or downtown to party. The alcohol policies are rediculous and public safety is always on the prowl looking to ruine any kind of fun you might be having. There are only 5 sororities and 4 frats and they don't even have houses. While most everything is in working order, if anything breaks, it takes maintenence days to respond. It has been said that USD stands for "the university of spoiled daughters," and oh does it fit. The girls are so concerned with looks, money, and fashion it is discusting. If you don't wear the newest fashion and or do your make-up and hair for class, you will stick out. And because the ratio of girls to guys is about 70:30 all you see is girls when you walk around campus. Everyone drives the nicest cars and finds it necessary to spend mommy and daddy's money and live in an expensive place by the beach come their junior year, if not sooner, when they could live elsewhere and pay much less. Overall, the people and social life is horrible, the only good things going for it is the academics, location, and beauty of the school.
