THIS IS A COMMUTER SCHOOL!!! which means that since 90% of classes are only held Monday - Thursday, the campus is deserted on the weekends.

The social life off of campus isnt too bad, there are plenty of schools in the area (Adelphi, Hofstra, etc), but on campus is a different story. Although it isnt dry, the ill trained RA's and public safety tend to crack down on any drinking or partying.

If youre looking for a school to meet lots of people, you won't have a lot of luck unless youre from Long Island, or an athlete. A large majority of the student body end up transferring after their first or second year due to this,and the cost of tuition.

The campus is very beautiful, green grass is everywhere, and it doesn't feel like a cement block with a massive parking lot!

The bureaucracy of Kumble Hall (financial aid, academic advising, bursar, etc) is notorious for giving students the run around. It works like this, if you dont know that you have to sign or do something, the school WONT inform you. Make sure you keep copies of EVERYTHING they give you, and if they dont, DEMAND IT. Trust me, you'll need reciepts and other such proof.
