For my money, FLC is a very good school. I did not have to go through the standard frosh/soph classes so I cannot comment on the quality of the 100-200 level classes that typically are sore spots for students. The student/teacher ratio is good throughout however, so you will get to know your instructor and not just some TA. The business school is quite good with a fairly high quality of instructors and courses.
The student composition seems to have a fairly equal distribution of political views, and activism is present if unorganized.
Club associations are not as well or highly organized as they could be, but given the resources and the number of students on campus this is a given. There are no fraternities or sororities currently active; there are sports teams that compete with other regional schools.

The social life on campus leaves something to be desired. Most of the students are quite friendly, and accept new people fairly easilly (I transfered in for my last year and found friends easily enough). The down side is that the typical activity for most 21+ yr. students involves going to one of the 10 or so bars in the surrounding town, or pursuing outdoor activities. Younger students have limited recreational facilities available on campus and some of those activities seem to focus on a early to mid-highschool age group rather than a college mindset. The town is fairly limited in things for young people to do, so unless you are capable of making your own fun you will probably face a bit of boredom or depression after your first month.
On Housing and Meals:
I cannot comment on the dormatories, but the campus apartments are quite suitable and appropriate for college aged students. The neighbors are usually okay, and the services and convenience nearly compensate for the price.

The campus food service sucks. As soon as you can get out of the dorms it is better to reduce your meal plan to the minimal option or none at all. The difference I paid between a full meal plan and the most limited one allowed me to eat far better with cash left over by shopping at the local grocery stores and cooking for myself.
Overall, if your conserne is education quality this is definately a good school. I you are going to college for a social party then UC Boulder is definately your school.
