I truly believe that Keene State is a special place. Aside from the very well maintained campus consisting of new, bright, comfortable, and asthetically pleasing buildings, Keene State is full of caring and interesting faculty members who seem as though they have vested interest in the success of every student. The class sizes are significantly smaller than those that I encountered before I transferred here, and offer plenty of challenge to students at many levels. This is not a barcode school by any means… In my years of experience, the school administration has been fast and responsive to my needs and complaints, and I feel like I am respected as an individual. The instructors (none of whom are grad students, thank god) are personable and helpful when you seek assistance. The city of Keene offers something for everyone… the amenities of a city with a small town feeling. Just a few hundred feet from campus down main street you will find many unique shops and restaurants. Right behind campus you will find all of the necessary businesses… WalMart, Shaws, the movies, and plenty of chain restaurants.

On the down side, drinking is a major part of life here. While the school sponsors plenty of alternative activities, it seems like everyone engages in some sort of alcoholic activity on the weekends, and most people take it to the extreme.

Overall, if you are looking for a comfortable, caring community focused on education (and drinking…) come to Keene State… from what I hear, a high percentage of people who visit here come back in the fall.
