Shippensburg isn't a "bad" school, its just small and underfunded. Also, its surronded by nothing but a small really old and boring town. You can definitly make good friends at the school but academically speaking, there is something to be desired for. Its not the school's problem per say, but if your goign to go to a school for a specific reason (Carrer, Grad School) and you want to maximize your potential, I'd pick a school that is either a premier state school or a well known and competetive private school. Ship on the most part has "unacademic" students, basically, most people are there to do something other then learn and attempt to become extremely succesful. There isn't much "school spirit" and msot of the campus leaves durring the weekend. The website describes itself well enough, basically its a school that attracts many regional students. Research in the university is virtually nill, but it is possible to get yourself attached to something if you look hard enough and work hard in your studies. Looking back, I enjoyed my stay at Ship, but in the end I had to transfer, it just wasn't for me. For students who live near the area its a convenient place to get your education and they are accredited in most things so at the very least you can use the classes at Ship for credit at another school.
