Emory is a great school. It is ranked very highly and it definitely has earned those rankings. The faculty is excellent, and the student body very intelligent and hard-working. Emory has a work hard-play hard scene, with frat parties frequently, tabs at many bars, and many nights at Atlanta clubs. The first couple of weeks at Emory, all students are eager to meet new people, but after that the friendliness dies down and people tend to stick to their own groups. There are many Long Island Japs here that are often considered stuck up and clique-ish, but these types of cliques are present at most colleges.

There are many distribution requirements, including health and PE classes, all of which can seem overwhelming to the student trying to fulfill their major on top of extra-curriculars. Emory students are doers, from volunteering to club or intramural sports, the students here are constantly busy. Emory can seem isolated at times to the 1st year student without a car… the Marta bus system is never used, and taxis, while easily accessed, are pricey to go anywhere worthwhile from campus.
The campus is absolutely gorgeous, and always manicured so much that it is laughable. There are always garden workers out re-planting flowers and fixing any tiny imperfection in the landscaping.
Overlall, Emory is an excellent school with many opportunities, which is in a great city as soon as you have a car to access it and the nearby Buckhead. Take advantage of this great school, you won't regret coming.
