Academically, the college is great. It is a very small school and in my opinion is

just like high school

The same drama continues into this college. The student body is not integrated at all between commuters and resident. Commuters have their own lounges and so do the residents.

The student body socially is centered around dorm parties and the bars (granted there valid fake ids). From my first year that I dormed, the student body was very nice. However, unless you were good friends with the others they will drop you by next semester.

The Criminal Justice courses are informative, however, are thought solely by adjuncts. Therefore, many students take them for an "easy A". The Education placements are a joke. They change the rules whenever they want, even hours before the placement. The scores to pass are 85. Athough, if you are nice to the Eduaction and Student Wellness workers, you can slide by with a few points. If you're not one of them, then you get to take a joke review class, waste even more money to buy a grammar and spelling book, and feel like you are in the sixth grade all over again. They only offer Spelling and English review courses after you take the ONCE A YEAR placement tests that grant you more years at MSMC (unless all tests are passed, upper level ed. courses are allowed). The school is still working on the Math courses yet there still are none.

Another word on the dorm life. Unless you are on a school team, there is nothing to do on campus. The student activity office has some poorly planned activities. Also, Gary Bice, the director of Residential Life, isn't a fan of commuters. The senior trip to VA Beach was granting housing to only Residential seniors. When he was called on it, he stated for the person complaining to return because he was busy and would avoid that person. He in turn does not do anything to help the commuters integrate with residents. The meetings of clubs are also held during weeknights when many commuters are either working or have another agenda. The commuter council is also a joke because they are also conflicted with the commuter's work schedule.

The only good thing about this school was the professors. Many are very helpful if you want to excel. The library is also helpful. Only when they charge you for false charges that arise weeks before you graduate and there's time wasted trying to fix it.

So, if you want a quality education go here. However, the ways around some methods of testing are horrible. Go take the Master's of Education anywhere you want. There is too much time wasted to take the required courses for the Universal Education Exam.
