Date: Oct 25 2003 Major: Chemical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time) Berkeley's chemical engineering program is great! The students are bright and many, however, so you will not get far unless if you show some intitiative. Otherwise, the teachers are superb, the facilities are top notch, and the beautiful bay area location is almost without equal. Of course you got your usual public school bureaucracy action going on and the well-noted observation that Berkeley girls aren't very pretty (for that, go to UCLA). But the education is very, very good. Not all students are the best and brightest, but most are hard working, and the very best are equal to the top students from any other institution. Several of my friends have gone on to MIT and Stanford for PhD programs in chemical engineering. Obviously, no dummies there. But the best thing to do is not to take my word for it. Check it out for yourself! Just don't bet on finding parking easily! :P
