Prior to matriculating at USC, I thought I was going to be surrounded by smart and intellectual students who took their academics seriously. In fact I was excited to be a trojan when I got my acceptance package (as well as acceptance to UCLA, Georgetown, Berkeley, COrnell and Washington). To be frank, I would have attended one of the schools listed in the parenthesis. Why? Because the majority of the undergrad students are engrossed in frats and sororities. You see many snobby soririty girls who don't even talk to non-sorority or frat students. Los ANgeles is also a shallow and dirty city to live in. I have to admit that UCLA is a totally better campus because of its location in Westwood. The students at UCLA are also more polite, have manners and UCLA has a smaller greek life population. USC is also STILL a football school. Students are berserk on home game days. In fact many frat boys love to make noise in the libraries on football game days when a horde of them stand in line saying f-words and other cusses that comes to mind. It's so disgusting that I don't study at the library on home football game days. Lastly, the dorms are sh-tty…plain sh-tty. There is roach, cricket and ant problems. The maintenance crew takes decades to come to your room to spray roach repellents or other insect repelling agents.
