My experience at UCLA, like many other students who have and will attend this exceptional University, was unique and wonderful. With the wide variety of academics and extracurricular activities (theater, student council, the fraternity system, Education Abroad program, sports, etc.) I found what I was looking for.

Since my sophomore year in high school, I had my heart set on attending the large university. Living in Orange County, I was lured by the diversity of the students on campus and the success of their athletic and academic programs.

During my tenure there, I was fortunate enough to take a variety of courses which included everything from Organic Chemistry to Spanish Literature. I discovered that I had more of an affinity and love of language than molecules. Also, I found that the Spanish Literature classes were smaller and more personable, allowing me to receive more mentoring and academic attention.

The highlight of my college experience was a year I spent in Granada, Spain through UCLA's Education Abroad Program. What an amazing once in a lifetime experience! And the best part was that the price of an academic year in Spain was comparable to a year in LA.

Since I graduated, I have been in the loop as to all the goings on by becoming a life time member of the alumni support network. I highly recommend it—the UCLA Alumni Association has been a crucial career networking tool for me. I have taken advantage of their career fairs and workshops where they feature motivational speakers and allow you to brush up your interviewing and networking skills.

The overall gist of my opinion is that you can find whatever you are looking for at UCLA. As each student is unique and UCLA offers so much, it allows you to "take shape" and find what you're looking for in your college experience.
