Major: School of Information (This Major's Salary over time)
This place is a corporate mess, however except for a lot of busy work, good academics. Be very aware that credits are not transferrable to very many other institutions; the list is grim. Do not expect intellectual freedom, as their programs are very structured & some of the instructors are more into causing stress as a motivating factor, as opposed to individual strengths. Most instructors & administration are extremely friendly & "smiley", and good "active listeners", yet most of the time it's just very friendly "lip service". Most instructors are very useful & helpful, but some are not teaching their strong subjects. Overall, it is very expensive and you may want to consider other options that have fully transferable credits; as opposed to only a handful accepting Heald (Golden Gate Univ. just told me that the end of summer 04 they are ending their "alliance" with Heald. The tutoring department does not actually exist in Roseville as of my time there, even thought that was one of the big "selling points" of the admissions advisor I was assigned to. This institution is more about "jumping through hoops" and dealing with stress, rather than anything intellectually stimulating. The admissions advisors either did not know the true status, or lied about several aspects of the institution. The only way I could see going here is if you only wanted a AAS, or business, or medical certificate. But in that case, why not save all of that extra money and go somewhere else that isn't an over rated corporate mess. If you want to live the movie "Office Space" in the worse way, every waking moment, for 18 months, then go to Heald College.
