i love it here. after a semester, i can honestly say there is no where i'd rather be. the women here i've met are amazing, and as corny as it sounds, i know i've made friends for life. the faculty has been truly supportive and i've learned more in this one semester than i have in my entire life. plus, the campus is GORGEOUS. a women's school isn't for everyone, but honestly, i wasn't looking for a women's school in the first place. I applied to and was accepted to a lot of other schools (vassar, bates, oberlin, midd, conn college, kenyon, smith, wellesly, barnard, colby) but once i visited, i realized that this is where i would be the most at home. people here are open minded but not "militantly p.c." there's the stereo-type that we're all lesbians- NOT TRUE- but we'll love, support and accept you if you are. we're not even all democrats (gasp.. but i am. go dean!) all this diversity makes for amazing conversations in dorms, dining halls, classes, etc. if you want to come hang out with a bunch of intelligent, funny, unique women; come on down! hmm. downsides… south hadley is a SMALL town. but theres enough, plus, there's free transportation to the surrounding towns of northampton and amherst. the five college consortium is a huge plus.
