I would definitely think twice about attending BYU if you are focused on getting a job after graduating. The location of the school makes it very difficult to find meaningful work experience during the school year and the school itself has poor ties to the business community.

The school suffers from a pretty bad rep, especially considering the caliber of students that are attending the school. Outside of Utah it is known just as a school for mormons that has produced a few good quarterbacks.

The tuition is dirt cheap, but if I had the chance to choose a college again I would have gone to a school with a better reputation in a bigger city (I'm sure it would have cost a lot more).

A lot of people subtly claim that in order to be a faithful mormon you need to attend this school, don't listen to this, it is nothing but garbage. You can study the religion anywhere and going to college has much more to do with the type of career you want to pursue and what you want to do with the rest of your life.

On the positive side, the school is very clean, the students are very well disciplined and competitive (good to be around people like this if you are serious about school) and the sports program is great.

A lot of the people I knew during my college years were completely focused on attending this school, they didn't even really consider going elsewhere. I fit into this category, although I am not sure why I was like this. So, I would strongly suggest to people applying here that they be very open minded about their college choice, there are definitely a lot of other quality schools out there. Good luck!
