Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I had a bad experience with UC Santa Cruz, and I trasfered very quickly. Santa Cruz is a small expensive city with hardly any housing on or off campus. The engineering and computer science programs are way too small for UC standards, and lack the presitege of bigger schools (such as UC Irvine, Cal Polys). But the acadameic programs didn't bother me as much as the living situations. The lack of on-campus activities, poor sports (Div III), and hard to drive around campus don't help it any.If you live in Northern California is it tricky because there are only two excellent colleges (Stanford and CaL), one above average one, (UC Davis) and the rest just mediocre (San Jose St., UCSC) I'd rather attend San Jose State (commuter school) than this one.
