Major: Engineering Department (This Major's Salary over time)
I applied to ED and got in a Biology major. After realizing biology is a relatively useless degree to graduate with, I switched into the Bioengineering department. The past semester has been much harder than anything I ever did in highschool but it has been managable through hard work. If you go Lehigh as an Engineer, be prepared to make few choices for classes for the first two years, nearly everything is a required class in that time. It will bother you to have a psych-major roomate and friends who are taking classes like Chinese culture and human reproduction while you spend 10 times as much work on physics, high level calc, chem and the rest. If you are looking for a first rate Engineering education, Lehigh is a great place to be. If not, you can expect the same thing you would at a regular liberal arts college where you don't do much work for the first year or two.Socially, lehigh is a great place to be if you love wild parties with crazy amounts of drinking. The frat system seems to rule the school but there is a decent social life found off campus as well. You must drink to come here. Again, you much love getting wasted with your friends at least 2 nights a week to enjoy the social life at lehigh. Personally, I joined a frat and abosolutely love it. If lack of diversity bothers you, you will hate it here. Half the student body are rich white kids from NJ, NY whose parents sent them to Lehigh with a 3-series or an A4. As for the town, its useless. There are a few cool bars and plenty of places to eat but mix a school of 5,000 rich white kids with a out of work steel mill town of minority population and you get a bad situation. However, its very safe on campus.
