Major: Chemical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
IIT is what you make of it. If you want to get out and have fun there is plenty to do. Greek life is very active and well balanced. Student government is fair and well run. If you are looking for undergrad research it's everywhere and professors are always willing to lead you in the right direction. I've never had problems with treatment. The campus location is a little "iffy" being located on the southside but in the past three years there had been a drastic improvement in the campus quality which is supposed to continue. If you are a bum you'll hate IIT but if you are motivated and looking for a challenging program where you have to work to get what you want, its a great place.
