Yes, there are a lot of restrictions on the Freshman class, but don't think that there are not ways to get around them. There are not many things to do on campus, Chicago is an awesome place which always has something going on. Just hop on the el and don't be a hermit and your experience in this city and at this school will be amazing. The classes can be difficult but the profs are always willing to help you out, they don't want to see anyone fail or do poorly within their classroom.
