Hello,

I graduated from Pratt two years ago. I studied graphic design (BFA). I have to say that Joe Roberts (he is the chairperson of Communications Design department) humiliates Pratt.

He has a long history with alcohol. He comes to work drunk, that's fine if that didn't affect the students but unfortunately it does.

He doesn't respect the students and their work.

Pratt administration knows about his problem, they have sent him to Anonymous Alcoholics but it just didn't work for both of them.

Students have made a lot of complaints about this but Pratt's president and the Dean seems like they do not care.

Unfortunately they care about your money first.

Another thing that I have to bring up is the quality of life in the dorms. Willoughby hall is breaking apart. Millions of mice are in this building. Pratt doesn't care about these living and unhealthy conditions. They will only provide you glue mice traps to solve your problem! They won't even come to your room to pick up the dead mice!!

My advices:

1) Keep away from Joe Roberts, do not take his classes. He teaches visual communications, twice a week. Try to ignore him cause he is a very vicious guy,he can ruin your day in a minute.

Communications Design department has a great variety of excellent professors (they hate Joe as well but hey what can they do? Students have the power!)

These professors can help you to achieve your lifetime goals.

2) Keep away from the dorms!! Willoughby is the oldest and the dirtiest. Try to make friends and rent an apartment. The neighborhood is getting safer.

If you keep in mind these two advices you will like pratt. It has a very strong educational program, well structured so try to make a benefit. USE PRATT DO NOT LET IT USE YOU!!!
