IMHO SIU is highly underrated. This is sad, because it's a wonderful school. When I attended there was a spirit of innovation at the university that was contagious; sure hope it's like that today. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and the weather is not cold like it is in the rest of Illinois. SIU students are minutes from the Shawnee National Forest.
