It took me a year to truly appreciate Vanderbilt. (Although this is mostly due to the fact that I was in the wrong major). The sterotypical Vandy students are certainly present but I would not say they are predominant and every year I have been here the % has decreased. Also the sterotypes about the greek system are misleading. While it does have a large presence it is most definitely not necessary for a rich social life. I am in a sorority but my closet friends are not and are very welcome at my soro. events. One problem I have with Vandy is that it is force-feeding "diversity". I do think diversity is important but the way they are approaching it. Its like mandatory fun or mandatory volunteering…
