Most students here would agree that you can't beat the undergraduate experience at Dartmouth. The academics are challenging and foster creativity with no hint of competition and the faculty are top researchers who are here to teach and go out of their way to involve undergraduates in research. On the social side, I expected the rural location (2.5 hours from any major city) to be a problem, but it has the effect of drawing the student body together and creates a vibrate, college-centered social life on campus. The outdoor activities are endless. My only frustration is the long winters, but the Dartmouth ski way is only 15 min away and provides a bright point for the winters. I could go on and on, but suffice to say that students and alumni are nuts about this place and for good reason. From the moment you arrive for your freshman trip till the day you die, you will bleed green.
