Major: Psychology (This Major's Salary over time)
I spent a year and a half (3 semesters) at Florida Tech, and I transfered out for good reason. The first of which is that the school is only good if you want to major in some kind of environmental science, or if you want to be a pilot. Second, the campus isn't all that attractive. Sure it has palm trees and such, but the buildings and classrooms are ugly and depressing to be in. Also, there is no life in the town (Melbourne), or on the campus. Athletics aren't really taken that seriously by most students, and there just aren't many activities to do on or near campus. You could walk across campus on a saturday and not see another person in your trip, it was like a ghost town. Finally, although a relatively minor fact, but from a guy's perspective, the school is nearly 80% male, so it may not be the best place if your looking for an active campus social life. Like I said before, if chemistry, environmental science and flight is your thing, then by all means go here (if you're willing to pay the private school tuition), other than that, I don't really see the benefit of attending Florida Tech.
