Date: Apr 12 2004 Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time) USI is a school that you get what you put into it. If you put in very little it will be worth very little. If you put in alot then you will get much more out of the school. The students range from those who want minimal interaction (often commuters), to those who are somewhat involved, and the hyper-involved. The school is a good size (~10,000 students) but the on-campus population is a little on the small side (~3,000). USI is inexpensive, true, but at the same time you get the nicest buildings in the world (most were built since 1985), some very good instructors and professors, and a decent sized town. I belive that USI has a negative image because it has a relatively open enrollment and many first year students do not take it seriously. Most of these students are weeded-out by the 2 year because they either drop out or don't make the grades to advance in there program. USI also has an excellent international student program - I was an exchange student in Europe and all I had to pay for was my USI expenses.
