I went to this school because it was cheap and I thought it would be a pretty good school for what I wanted, WRONG. Parking is horrible. If it rains, prepare to swim to your car. Course work is hardly challenging, you'll have plenty of time to do other things instead of studying.Social life at this school barely exists, although there are parties you better be 21 to fully enjoy them. Most students are commuters and barely spend time on campus unless they have class. School spirit seems to be sorely lacking because of this fact.As far as the quality of classes go, I have taken harder courses in my Sophomore in High School. This place is a joke in some respects that students in Composition II and Lit I classes have yet to understand the concepts of verbs and nouns, forget about complete sentences. Of the all the classes I have taken, most involved reading the book and answering questions based on the readings, no great class lectures. Of the good classes, lectures rarely had anything to do with the 80 dollars I wasted on a book never once used. Nevertheless, not everything about this school is bad. Nursing and Education majors seem to be good and the History department has some great Professors. If you're not bothered by mediocre students and apathetic faculty members this school is for you. If you want to work full-time and commute to college without actually living the college experience, you'll find that this school performs this task exceptionally well. With regards to the campus, Salem is place full of history and museums. However for bars and social life, get ready to drive to Boston. Recently a new Central Campus building was constructed and new dorms are expected to be completed by the end of this year. Campus appearance is slowly improving.
