Read between the lies:

"…[the] work of MBI in this town has such influence. … Most of those ATTENDING MOODY LOVE MOODY, of course, or most of those in associated churches, of course… Everyone at MBI will tell you it is the greatest place on earth… students survive it and do fine."

Couldn't have put it better myself. There is the truth about MBI for all to read, in the words of an outspoken and reactionary detractor! Even those who want to portray MBI in the worst possible light have to acknowledge that it has a strong influence on the city, is popular with students and with churches in the community, is well loved by the vast majority of both students and faculty, and can be lived through as a good experience. Prospective students, take note!

—"If I have erred in any negative criticism, please inform me." Exactly what I have done, several times; do you "not wish to hear it" or something? I could point out that your remarks about the high cost of room and board are wildly exaggerated (My room was about $300 a month on the bill I got last week, and anyone past freshman year is free to live off campus if they so choose!) and do not take into account the enormously higher cost of housing at most nearby places in Chicago ($1800 a month is typical, and that's considered a GOOD deal. Until you add the staggering cost of transportation.).

But I think by now any objective reader can tell that your strongest criticisms are merely making mountains out of molehills in a bitter personal vendetta to smear the name of Moody (for whatever motive, I will not judge as you do.) I only post this to the public forum because you refuse to provide any contact information (for whatever motive). I am not blind to negative things, and have provided my email address for anyone to contact me with whatever they want to say about anything, even slander about God's good work at Moody if they want to use their freedom of speech that way. But apparently you are willfully blind to the positive and would blot it out because you do not wish to hear it (though even you can't deny it, as shown above). I will refrain from the obvious comment I could make on that.

All my facts are substantiated
is the plea of every slanderer (especially when that assertion is not followed with any actual serious documentation!). You do not have to mention people by name to gossip; what you are attacking is the general body of students and administration of MBI as a whole. You assume that everything they do is for an evil motive and, using a circular argument, base all your remarks about them on that assumption. (E.G. Has it ever occurred to you that there might conceivably be GOOD reasons for requiring chapel—like, perhaps, the ability it gives to discipline the few slackers who would not show up anyway? There are always plenty of people at the optional chapels every Friday, too, so no problems with the students' wills to worship.) Negative remarks made behind one's back with a clear intent to malign one's character are slanderous by any definition. That is exactly what you have done.

I have no problem with negative criticism when it is reasonable, tactful, and Biblical—I do it myself about many things, even Moody at times—but groundless and maliciously exaggerated distortions such as characterize your posts should be unacceptable to any reasonable person.

Of course Moody is not 100% awesome. Only 99.754%. The rest are the complainers.
