Advice and comments. The school now is accepting students with only above 1200 unless, I believe, you are a legacy. This is a school that does have a good rep and have met people here and there that have heard of it and have doctors and lawyers that attended this school. I did not expect the academics to be as rigorous as they are so I do think that they should be accepting only student with a 1200 to 1400 range. I know several kids in my dorm, valedictorians of their private and public schools systems, were having a hard time and one girl quit halfway through first term as she felt it was just so much harder then she expected. I think for journalism it is most likely not the place to be but for pre- med, management, economics, political science, psychology, history and English I feel it is a very solid program. If you are not much of a writer then start practicing. You will know how to write or fail the classes.

There are many restrictions such as no off campus housing rules and no freshman or sophomore cars that make it hard for some. The town of Delaware is nice but not all that. It has developed some even from when I visited it a year ago prior to going there though. Most kids that leave either flunk out or leave because the academics are harder then they want, they want to be somewhere bigger. ( It is a small school), or warmer (I know at least two people from Florida that are going back to Florida for the weather. Also they do need to have more campus activities. Columbus is not that far away and is a nice city with enough to keep you busy. But without a car you are stuck. Borrowing cars is not that hard and many freshman bring them anyway and just park on the street. I feel I am getting a good education here maybe even as good as my friend at Cornell. We compare notes often. I would not suggest it for engineering or journalism though but remember people that end up writing for newspapers are often not journalist they are experts in their field and that you can start here.

I wish they would have some sort of transportation to the city regularly for students without cars, get rid of that lame campus security which consists mainly of uneducated townspeople who can't even read and work on the food a bit. I would like more outside speakers brought in and a little more going on in the campus entertainment arena.

I am staying. I feel that this is a great school to learn at and is most probably highly underrated. I am not from Ohio I am from Maryland.
