Of the three universities I attended, MNU was comparably sub-par. I found the coursework to be generally quite stale (with a few exceptions), the faculty to be less than helpful (sometimes even hostile), and the general atmosphere to be very limited and close-minded.

The focus at MNU is definitely on Biblical/Religious studies which is to be expected at a Nazarene University, but during my time there I watched several departments within the Humanities division (modern languages and english) literally crumble.
I lived off campus, but I know the dorms are overly crowded (several two person rooms with three people), the food is not that great, and the "rules" are ridiculous. For the pricey cost, the aforementioned are a lot to digest for the average student seeking a general undergrad experience.

The one good thing I have to say for the University is that a degree from there is generally well-respected around the Kansas City area, and that is one of the primary reasons I stayed there through my graduation. Once I started looking for a job, I did feel as though a degree from MNU put me a step above an applicant with a degree from a state school, and, unlike many recent grads, I had a job lined up before graduation.
