Date: May 24 2004 Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time) Converse changed my life. While I was hesitant to attend a private small women's college after attending a very large coed public high school, I found my niche at Converse. I hardly noticed that men were not in the classroom (and I had several boyfriends throughout my college career), but the lack of their presence truly encouraged me to become more confident in the classroom. Because I went to Converse, I met with various ambassadors from foreign countries, traveled to Egypt, saw John Mayer, Nickel Creek, Billy Joel and Elton John (there is so much to do in the Spartanburg area! Charlotte and Greenville are so close by!), went to three different cities (Boston, Nashville, and Indianapolis) on behalf of the school to recruit entertainment acts (and met celebrities like Screech from Saved by the Bell and Jay Mohr), held two solo vocal recitals, made terrific friends, and became an eloquent, well-rounded individual. Converse challenged me intellectually and made me (and my resume) quite competitive in my graduate career. I am certain that the job I land upon my graduation from grad school will be impressed with my Converse experience. I have often discussed the differences between my experience as an undergrad with that of my peers in grad school (most of them went to large public coed universities) and they are often envious of the opportunities and benefits I received at Converse. If you are considering Converse and are skeptical about the lack of "male interaction," its size, or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me because I once stood in your shoes. The professors and staff at Converse truly care about each student—you won't experience anything like Converse at any other campus. Best wishes and I hope you attend Converse and love it as much as I did.
