Major: Electrical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
The EE department at WSU has just hired new Associate and Assistant professors. The nature of the industry makes funding very competitive. When compared with a top ranked unnamed university I attended, WSU compares well. The lab facilities for graduates is not as high-tech, but undergrad's shouldn't have a problem doing almost anything they can imagine. What WSU does have is the "Metropolitan Advantage." If you want experience Wichita will give it to you. Employers are very willing when it comes to hiring and keeping students. The way engineering is taught is different in each discipline, but the major university I compare WSU to teaches EE in the SAME format. You are less likely to meeting a horrible teacher at WSU. There are now 4 classes with 4 different TA's teaching them and these are all freshman level courses. These are Doctorate students that I don't believe any student but the exceptional few, extremely well prepared could stump. The teachers all have time to meet with students and it being such a small school you'll find them more friendly. There are only 3 certified and accredited universities in Kansas; KU, K-State, and WSU. They must maintain standards that allow you to get the FE and PE license. They always have and always will meet this benchmark. I enjoyed my years here. Good Luck!
