Pharmacy is one of the better health professions programs at Iowa. The older faculty were very "ivory tower" in their mentality, and this persists in some of the younger faculty. You get a good basic science education in pharmacy, and some good practical experience too. The problem is that the faculty was never good at integrating the two. The new dean doesn't enjoy as much respect as the old one, because he is seen as caustic, abrasive and unfriendly by some of my fellow alumni of the last 15 years.

I am considering the Univeristy of Iowa next year for Pharmacy. I was wondering if you thought I could compete with the other students in the program if I only have a 28 ACT score, but have a great work ethic. Please respond. Thanks
