Although there are activities and clubs at the university, the large commuter population doesn't often get involved. The school has a brand new Rec Center with a variety of intermural and club activities, so get involved! I had the experience of being both a commuter and a resident of the campus. If moving on campus is possible in your situation, i advise giving it a try.
