Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
To be happy at William and Mary, you have to be serious about wanting a great education. Most students here are very involved with their majors of choice, and while there is ample opportunity to figure out what direction you want to go in, major-wise, the students who just float along aimlessly are the ones who end up being unsatisfied. You have to be proactive about getting involved with extracurricular activities, too. Williamsburg is a beautiful place to live and I wouldn't choose any other university, based on my visits to friends' schools and their comparitively dismal surroundings. But there is no riotous night life so you're going to have to find a group of friends and make your own fun. Sororities and fraternities help that along, but there's other things to do if that's not your idea of a good time. You just have to be willing to be creative. And if you do end up coming to William and Mary, please don't be one of those people who doesn't know how to balanace work time and social life… we don't need any more people like that.
