The trustees of Ohio Wesleyan recently named a new president. His academic credentials seem very solid and he has extensive international experience. So, it remains to be seen in what direction he will take the college but his background looks quite impressive. Here is the excerpt:Huddleston has been Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, since 2001. He previously served as Associate Provost for International Programs and as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, also at the University of Delaware. Huddleston joined the University's faculty as an assistant professor in 1980 after having taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo for several years. Huddleston's academic specialty is public administration, a field in which he has published widely, focusing on the senior federal career service and a variety of international issues. He has worked extensively in Bosnia and Kazakhstan for USAID and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. He also has managed programs for the United States Information Agency in Slovenia, Mexico, Botswana, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. "I am elated and honored to have been chosen as Ohio Wesleyan's President. OWU is a wonderful institution," Huddleston said. "I look forward to helping make this outstanding university even stronger." Huddleston received his bachelor's degree in political science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1972. He earned his master's and doctoral degrees in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1973 and 1978 respectively.
