Shepherd seems to enjoy flaunting the fact that there are nearly 4,900 undergraduates who attend school here. This number is true, however, its very misleading to prospective students. The size of the campus, social life, athletics/activities, and all around "living" doesn't encompass a "College Town" with 5,000 students. In my opinion its not a bad thing that the school only has about 2,000 students who are consistantly around. Everyone pretty much knows each other, they're welcoming and friendly. Cliques form, as they do everywhere, but you can come to Shepherd, have a great 4-5 years, and get out with a fairly good education. You just have to find your niche where you fit in, yes there is drinking, there are parties, there are hot chicks…I'd give it an overall grade of: "B+." Lastly, the cost to come here, especially in-state, is excellent.
