What did you think of the studio art department? |
How do people react to you as an Oberlin graduate? Do they recognize the name or brush you aside?I'm wondering if Oberlin has a program that helps you find a way to do what you want after college. |
Major: Art & Design Department (This Major's Salary over time)
At times, Oberlin can be a challenging place to live, work, and study, but all said and done, it is worth it. I made some incredible friendships there and the student body has diverse interests and incredible talents. It is true that sometimes the small town environment can induce claustrophia, however, it is also a wonderful environment for creative people who like a challenge, can entertain themselves, and want some peace in their lives. I found those things at Oberlin. Dating can also be a challenge, but it's not impossible and when you do finally meet people, chances are, they will change your life in a positive way. As for the weather, I'm a California girl and I survived. In fact, I'm eager to get back to the mid-west. There's no place like it. Many of the professors are approachable and of a very high calibre.
Since I graduated, I have remained in good touch with many of my fellow alumni and I think often of the incredible experiences I had there.
